Samoyed dogs belong to top-tier canine breeds when it comes to cuteness. Their fluffiness makes them awesome to look at and even more awesome to cuddle. If you had a Samoyed puppy in the house with you, you could do away with all of your pillows.
Yes, these dogs are soft. They are squishy. But the thing that makes them utterly adorable is the same thing that makes them difficult to wash and clean.
If you’re wondering what it takes to wash and groom a Samoyed dog, you came to the right place. Here we bring you a video of a two-hour Samoyed grooming sesh. Watch and enjoy the vid!
The dog in the video is named Samson. We assume that’s an allusion to the biblical character who lost his strength after losing his precious hair. Today Samson does not lose his hair.
Instead, he gets a nice grooming session. The two-hour process begins with the dog’s dad explaining to Samson what’s about to go down. That’s to hype up the dog about bathtime.
Next, dad fills the tub and carries Samson into it. In fairness to Samson, he’s as behaved as you would wish for a dog to behave during bathtime. He willingly submits to it.
Samson’s dad uses a dipper to shower the dog. Why he’s not using an actual shower is probably because a dipper provides more water control, enough not to scare Samson. The next order of business is the all too delicate process of shampooing Samson’s thick coat.
After shampooing comes rinsing. It takes a while before Samson’s coat is completely rid of shampoo. Once that’s over, Samson is carried off the bathtub.
Samson’s dad dries the dog’s coat with a hair drier. Again, this step takes longer than when an average human dries their hair. But it’s worth it because Samson comes out of the two-hour process looking ten times better.
